Week 3 - Local SEO Agency

Welcome to the third week and this week we're going to launch a local SEO agency.

What Exactly Is A Local SEO Agency?

A local SEO agency helps local businesses rank their websites in the search engines (primarily Google).

Typically, they charge a monthly fee to do the SEO work necessary.

This is one reason why having your own agency is a very powerful thing indeed:

Monthly recurring income!

When you have several clients on board, you have an almost guaranteed income coming in each month. Of course, some clients may drop off but you can continue to sign up new ones.

And completing the SEO work can be completely outsourced if you don't want to do it yourself (use caution though!). We'll cover what to do and what not to do in this training.

First Step - Agency Website

The first step is to create your own SEO agency website.

This will, of course, be created with WordPress.

The aim of this website is to attract paying clients and also to give you a storefront to advertise your services.

Google My Business - Create a business account, then you can add your business via Google Maps.

The steps to take:

#1 - Search for your business name in Google Maps.

#2 - Click on "Add Missing Place".

#3 - Fill in your business details and claim the business.

#4 - Verify your business using the options provided (postcard, email, phone etc).

To boost your Google Map rankings, citations will help you to do that.

Client Site - Analyzing & Pricing

When you're deciding how much to charge a client, there are several factors to consider. We'll go through them below.

- What are the anchor text percentages?

What is the competition like in Google?

Finding Clients

You now have everything you need to start taking on clients. Let's look at some ways to find them.

Hi

I notice your website is on page 6 of Google
for the term "Blackpool plumber".

And this means you are losing potential
customers that are visiting other plumbers'
websites and not yours.

There are some quick fixes I can help you with
to boost your website up the rankings.

I'm also based in Blackpool and specialize
in helping local businesses gain those
top spots in Google.

I'll send over more information, just hit reply
and let me know you're interested.

All the best

Networking Events

Big Tip - Contact local web design agencies and ask if they do SEO. If they don't, tell them what you do and ask if they'd be interested in working together.

They provide SEO services, charge their clients and pay you to do the work.

Facebook Groups

This video shows how to find Facebook groups with potential clients:

Accepting Payment

Here are several ways to accept payment from your clients:

Paypal - By far the easiest way is to send them a Paypal invoice or set up a payment button. This can be a subscription, so they will automatically be charged each month and you don't have to chase them up for payment.

Bank Transfer - You can provide them your bank details and they can transfer the money directly into your account.

Cheque - If they are a local business, you can call in and pick up a cheque from them, or they can mail you one in the post.

Other Options - Some other online payment systems are WorldPay, Amazon Pay, Sage Pay, Authorize.net and Braintree.

Sample Contract - If the client requires a contract, then here's a sample one you can adapt for your needs.
